ACCESS + BELONGING

WELCOME

At St Michael’s we believe that The Church is the body of Christ (1 Cor 12: 24-27) and every part is necessary. We believe our church family is at it’s best when every person is welcomed, valued and included. Each of us is made in the image of God and we welcome everyone to our church.

Our hope is not only that people with disabilities attend our church, but that everyone can belong. To belong at St Michael’s means you are able to access God’s word and his community, to be discipled, to worship, to grow and to have opportunities to serve alongside your church family. We also know that sometimes physical barriers, communication barriers or attitudes have made it harder for disabled people and their families to feel at home in Church and the wider community. We are committed to learning from those experiences and to growing into a church where barriers are removed wherever possible, differences are celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

Accessibility is not something we see as a completed task. It is an ongoing journey of listening, learning and responding. As our understanding grows, we will continue to make changes that help more people participate fully in worship, community and ministry. Whether you are visiting for the first time, returning after time away, or looking for a church to call home, we want you to know that you are welcome. If there is anything we can do to make your visit easier or more comfortable, we would love to hear from you. Please don'thesitate to get in touch before you visit—we would love to hear from you.
